There is an aspect to the fee discussion that has not surfaced so far.
Relative to other visitors, backpackers are a very small part of the
Park Service...

it all depends on whether you measure $ per visit or $ per day.
I think the Park Entrance fee probably covers a lot of South Rim
infrastructure and...
