Hello Dean -- You can camp halfway down the Bright Angel trail at
Indian Gardens. There is water there. You could then go either east
or west from there...

You've come to a great resource on the canyon. There is a campground at
Indian Garden which is halfway down the Bright Angel Trail. I've been
told that...

Most of the old 4wd road going out to Cape Solitude was closed to all
but foot traffice by NPS some years ago. When leaving the Desert
View developed area...
