My advice would be to do some longer loop hikes in the canyon first
before you try something that long. In addition with the Tonto as it
is not a loop...

Water already stored in the S. Rim tanks can flow back down the
pipeline to Indian Garden is what I believe happens.

I have been told, but have never had time to verify, that water for
Indian Garden can come "back" down the pipeline from the storage
tanks on the S. Rim...
