I took my first GC off trail hike in '65, I was hiking with Geo Steck and Co.
My pack, with water ranged from 50 to 56 lbs. Geo was usually five lbs....

Looking at Harvey's map of the canyon that shows his routes there is
definitely none shown in that area. I have poked around there a bit
and found nothing...
