My first Canyon backpack was also to Deer Creek and Tapeats
Creek. It's what got me hooked on the Canyon. It would be high
on my list of recommended first...

I did the Deer Creek/Tapeats Creek routes as my first overnight canyon
experience. Great place to see anytime.
