I don't think you'll have a good experience on the North Rim in April. Unless you drive some long and difficult dirt roads you won't even see the Canyon. ...

If snow is "average" no way will you get views of the Canyon. There are some areas in the N. Kaibab NF that the roads may be open then but I would not...
