The North Rim tradionally opens on May 15 at up till that time
everything, including the highway in, is closed to visitors. AMFAC
tells me this morning...

howdy, Hans-- Like another poster said, heat is more likely to be a
problem
than cold, esp. since you're going all the way from N. Rim to BA cg
in one...

Unless you have a really light weight tent, I would recommend
that you leave it at home and take the tarp.
I think the conflicting reports on water...

Yeah, there should be no problem with the snow. If the lodge is
supposed to be open on the 13th--you have a rez at the Lodge then?--
they'll have the road...

tents and water in late March
We are hiking the SK to PR to Tonto and out to HR the third week in
