I didn't mention one other way to avoid this narrows. You can climb
up into a valley like Surprise that continues downstream. This would
be accessed earlier...

There is a route around but most of it is off trail. As you are
coming down the valley (towards the river) you will see a trail that
goes up to your left...

Over the top at Deer Creek?
We'll be coming down from suprise valley through Deer Creek on our
way to Kanab. We got "uncomfortble" going through that narrow place
in Deer Creek where...
