Actually Doug I was not a river runner when I was doing those
crossings, I haven't done one in over 20 years. I'm not certain I
would do a crossing at this...

I am sure Doc T and Bob are right about not >>really<< needing paddles,
but they are both experienced GC river runners. Good runners know how...

I've done it without a vest to get over to Buck Farm from the
Eminence Break route and also above Tuckup to continue a down river
exploration with Bob Cree....

I have carried them around the world. Should be fine as long as it is turned off while in your luggage or carry-on aboard the plane. Airline regulations...
