There are a couple of good places to camp on your way out N
Bass. I think Steck describes all of them in Loop Hikes I. My
favorite is at the bottom of the...

Lyle, there's an open cupboard behind the ranch where
you can drop off your unwanted items. Boots are
especially useful as many hike down in unbroken in
shoes...

I'm told there is some sort of "donation box" at Phantom ranch so overpackers (like me) can "help out" the totaly clueless who wander down with nothing....
