I have not heard anything like that and remain very very skeptical.
I would guess that 80%+ time when hikers have told me that such and
such a spring was...

I don't remember anyone mentioning that the miners spring on the east
side of the redwall, near the bottom, ever goes dry but this has been
a very dry year....
