Local paper is on Thurs. The closure is signed every place I have looked such as at the New Hance trailhead.

Kind of strange for the trails to close at 8:00 am on Friday and the
Park's website still saying trails are open as of Monday morn. Has

The phone number of the Trans Canyon shuttle is 928-638-2820. They
go each way once a day until October 15. I believe the cost is $60
but am not...

I would like to do a rim to rim hike but not a rim to rim to rim.
does any one know of a shuttle that goes from north to south rim and
the cost.

Fires
I was driving at sunrise this AM on Rt. 64 east toward Cameron. The
sun was a red, almost scarlet, ball. Much smoke to the east of the
Canyon, literally...

Names" gives a translation for Uinkaret (region of pines) but
