I would disagree with you that 17 hours for a Double Crossing is not very fast time if you are walking!!!

Personally, I don't think hiking moderate distances over a
relatively short period of time carrying only a day pack is nearly as
impressive as going long...

46 mile double crossing in 17 hours is not very fast nor is it
running.
It's not that uncommon for serious GC hikers to avg 3 mph up/down the
corridor...
