I'm also impressed by people with 70 pounds packs in the GC hiking when water is scarce and temp's are 100+ degrees! LOL Help should always only be a phone...

Personally, I don't think hiking moderate distances over a relatively short period of time carrying only a day pack is nearly as impressive as going long...

46 mile double crossing in 17 hours is not very fast nor is it running. It's not that uncommon for serious GC hikers to avg 3 mph up/down the corridor...
