I recall that someone took Kolb, in later years, on the Plateau, and down to where they saw the arch from above. No climbing. I guess one could rappel down...

Hmm....never seen a tarantula in the Canyon either....seen lots of rattlers, and I have seen (at least I think it was) a ringtail....at night...just some...

Just a postscript. The rts. into the canyon that I know of are from upriver down are 49.9, The horsetheif trail into Nankoweap, the Freefall rt. Kibby...

Three of us did that trip some years ago. I would seriously suggest that you go up it rather than down because I have known several parties that have failed...
