Filtering or settling is always a good idea Dove. Sediment can
contain all sorts of nasties and should be removed. You want the
water to be clear at least....

I'm sorry but could not resist the cell phone/GPS rescue. They phone in and
say they are lost. They give you their GPS readings. We check a map and ask...
