shoshoni point
A great place to camp and see the sunrise is shoshoni point area.
This is also where a old trail comes onto the rim. I caught some
great sunrise photos...

Actually asking for beer or a ride downriver is soooo low...
But what most irritates the guides is hiker trash -- not the hikers, but
the TP and other things...

I would vote for doing the Clear Creek trail only as far as the Tonto
level, and head back down with enough energy and time (hopefully...) to
wander a mile...

Mark - for each campground there are permits for a certain number of
parties. A party is 1-6 persons, so your chances of obtaining a
permit shouldn't be...

Being solo doesn't create any problems for you. The demand for permits at
that time of year can be a bit high.
