I agree with all that's been written. I might add, though, bring something like Polar Pure or iodine tablets to purify the water in case the pipeline breaks...

This is a pretty individual decision. Maybe you can get by with
trailrunners (in which case you'll be happier without boots) and
maybe it'll KILL your feet. ...
