I've been using trekking poles for the past year and find a
noticeable difference, especially while wearing a pack.
At first they seemed to get in the way...

I bought my poles through REI and have used them twice. I had little problem
adjusting to them and for whatever reason find myself hiking at a faster
rate...

I use Leki poles also anytime the terrain is rough or steep. I like the Super
Makalu model because the offset grips and shocks really help reduce stress to...

Tried 'em, personally don't care for 'em. However, I do like a longer
hiking staff staff for added stability and support while negotiating
