I do alot of winter hiking in the canyon. The cooler temps actually
feel warm to me as I am coming from Alaska where the temps are
routinely -20 that time...

I dislike winter backpacking in Grand Canyon for the reasons you
mention: no sun and the nights are too long, even worse it can get
very cold and...
