Owen--what you need is a wind break. We take silnylon ponchos that
double as small tarps. Just get creative with a tarp and some string.

Pick up Feb 2003 Backpacker magazine... just opened mine and they had
all kinds of good ideas for cold camping.

Vacum sealer
They rock... just got mine and its use is limitless. Does anyone
know if there is a vacum bag maker that has a zip lock to it... NOW
THAT WOULD ROCK.

It's not so much the bag as it is a combo of things...
proper hydration, a little chocolate bar prior to bed,
thermorest, REI down filled bag 750 fill...

What kind of a bag do you have ? I have found that if there is any wind
that sleeping out under the stars becomes difficult due to heat loss.
