I just came back from the GC trip. trek down the South Kaibab trail
till cedar ridges. It was great to be trekking down the trail and
coming up. suprisingly...

This time of year the Hikers Express from BA Lodge & BCO to S. Kaibab
leave daily at 8, 9 & 10 AM.

I don't understand where the name came from either, except like
you said it goes down Bright Angel Canyon past the source for Bright
Angel Creek...
