I do not use afilter unless the water is from a source like a pond or
lake with small inlets. I usually drink the water straight from the
source and don't...

--- I leave water and food caches so I can return later to hike
lighter. I can go directly to my caches and camp and not have to
carry everything in on each...

Just because a person is standing in the same place that doesn't mean
that the GPS units all locked onto the same satellites and did
exactly the same...

I have mixed feelings about this issue. If I find a remote water cache that
appears to have been there for a long time I will move it to a clearly
visible...
