I took the GVP G4 to Clear Creek, over Brahma Deva saddle to
Cottonwood and out. I would concur with what others said, 30 lbs is
possible, but pushing it....

It's a little over your stated threshold, but the Mountinsmith Auspex is pretty "bomber" @ 3# 7oz. for 4000 CI

I've used the golite Trek pack on 6 day trips twice in the canyon,
once in the rocky mountains and on a few weekends in the wichita
mountains and other than...

I have an Osprey Aether 60 and have hiked Deer Creek - Kanab - Sowats and South
Bass - North Bass with it. Both times it's done admirably. I bought...
