I agree with Bob Marley that motorized rafting trips
have never caused any problem for me as a backpacker.
And any problems they may be causing should not...

That doesn't seem very likely. What has rafting got to do with
backpacking and hiking other than some of us like to do both. It would
certainly seem difficult...
