There's gypsum all over the AZ Strip. We passed a gypsum mine someplace. I think, maybe on way to Mt. Bangs. (tremendous view, by the way)

I don't know about the water at Willow Spring but I do know that the
water at Cottonwood is loaded with gypsum. You can see the gypsum
along the streambed....
