Bob, I have not heard of any way to have your gear inspected and then locked. One suggestion I have read is to "lock" zippers, etc. with plastic zip ties. ...

At some ranger offices they accept food cache shipments. Does the Grand Canyon BCO accept FedEx shipments? Maybe make lodging reservations for the night...
