Billingsley, et al investigated many breccia pipes, which, I believ were also mines. I think the Ridenaur was one. Can call up George's reports via Google,...

Maybe someone who is a geologist could comment, but I suspect a
connection with the fact that Last Chance and Orphan are (were) both
breccia pipe mines....
