I have used my Garmin III+ in the Canyon with good results. I didn't carry
it on the last trip down Nankoweap 3 weeks ago. I felt we wouldn't need it.

I've always found it faster to go I-40 to 64 but not significantly
so. I am rarely in that much of a hurry that 10 or 15 minutes is
going to make that much...
