I second the Sunday Afternoon hat. It has mesh panels to vent heat, and the back portion is long enough to cover your neck while soft enough not to interfere...

Hermits rest shuttle buses
The information I have on the shuttle buses is that the first one departs for hermits rest at 4:30 am, for the month of august but in this post you say 7:30....
