I use a pair of trekking poles. On my last GC hike, I think they really made the S. Kaibab a lot easier. I'm not going to go back to no poles any time...

North Rim Road Closure
Just curious, when the north rim's facilities close, does access to the north kaibab trailhead and parking lot remain open until the road actually closes...
