Snow Cover?
Hi, All -- Does anyone know where I can check for how far down in
elevation there is snow cover on the South Rim? I'm hiking in to
Phantom Ranch next week...

Route down Clear Creek to the river is about 6 miles. About a half mile from the river is a pour off the requires about a 20 foot down climb on the right...

I too have tried this route twice in the past five years. The North Rim Backcountry
Office has no record of their being a route and Harvey's trail...

I don't have a great deal of experience, but did the Clear Creek last year in
July heat. The trail was not difficult, but it seemed long...and we ran out...
