By the way, Connie, the travertine is just below the Tonto, so just a
quick side hike down the creek as you pass through might pay off well.

Yes, I'm sure that Travertine East would normally be dry even with
all that travertine below the Tonto trail, maybe a pothole. The
Green/Ohlman book says...

There is lots of travertine in the Canyon that no longer has spring
activity around it (some of the lower redwall and Mauv layers just
above Elves Chasm are...

BurRec used to control the gate to the bottom and you could arrange
with them to take gear to the bottom. It was very military-like
though. You couldn't...
