Except in the winter (can get too cold with the wind under the tarp edges and unable to trap any heat), tents in the Grand Canyon are for wussies and folks...

Jim, Yes, I have never taken a tent into the Canyon, but if I did it would be my Henry Shires Squall Tarptent. This tent, my Hennessey Hammock and tarps...

Jim- I only have a few pieces of advice about tents. Get a free-standing tent if you can since there is alot of rock in GC and tents can't always be set up...
