Actually someone was kidding. It's 214 miles from the South Rim to the
North Rim (24 miles on foot).

I've used Trans Canyon shuttle many times over the years and found
their service to be excellent.
Its a tough 4 hour drive from north-south and I believe...

What you describe is part of a Nankoweap to Kwagunt loop on the butte
fault (you return along the river). It is absolutely no problem to do
that. Done it...

Yes. Definitely possible. Std route on Butte Fault, if steep. See Harvey's book, etc. If one goes much further up Kwagunt, one can cross over ridge into upper...
