At the risk of being a bit layed back. We often when returning from Calif.
decide to just walk up to the window and take a hike or backpack in the Canyon.

I also have had very good experiences with the staff at the BCO. The permit process
is not broken. But all processes should be examined periodically and...

The current permit reservation system is totally weighted toward locals and commercial operators with the resource to wait it out when the first of each month...

When people continue to do what they do even though it is obviously
wrong there is usually something in it for them. I suspect the NPS
prefers to see GCFI...
