How can I apply for permits for April?
A friend and I are planning a hike in the canyon this April. How do
we go about making reservation for the permits before we arrive at
the backcountry...

Some of the signs say not to "attempt" to hike from
the rim to the river and back in one day. I guess if
you are successful, it is ok. I do this about once...

Hi Dave--The canyon is steep--very hard on the knees and toes
going down. The south rim is 7000ft the river is 2000. I am sure
you can do it--I did it...
