spend some time around BA campground or in the dorms at Phantom
Ranch. Then day hike up...

That's the right info Sam. The float trip is WELL worth it, if not
for a nice day on the river, but to get to take the tunnel to the
bottom of the dam. ...

I have also heard from friends these 1/2 day float trips are very

The Colorado in Grand Canyon isn't a day tripper rafting opportunity,
especially in the main Canyon. There are half day trips from the dam
to Lees Ferry...

Cyn Dam & Lees Ferry. But it's still fun. The only way you can
experience whitewater is...
