I agree there are no short cuts around it that make for an easier

I agree. I've done it both ways--climb the hill and try to go around. It was
faster to just go up the darn thing. It is not a big deal.

i've been there twice...and i have very little route finding ability...it was
very easy...no problem to find...and is a very short detour to ribbon falls,...
