On the first river trip I did in 1971 or 1972 I hung myself on a
spontaneous climb in North Canyon. I was trying to scramble/climb
around one of the pools....

As far as exposure, there is the recently-much-discussed scary slope going
down into Clear Creek, that looks worse than it really is.
