We live on Edwards AFB just North of Palmdale/Lancaster. I haven't
done any hiking in the San Gabbriels in the year that we have been

Powell Plateau was a wonderful place when I was there about 10 years ago, but there is
no water. The trail starts from Muav Saddle and is in great condition...
