The best writeup I have seen is in Steck's first loop hikes book

Get a copy of Annerino's book, "Hiking the Grand Canyon". He has a description of
the hike.

Hi Clayton, sorry about that. There is water in Kanab below Pencil Springs, all year round. There's a ton of info on hiking in the Kanab area at the archives...
