Camilla, I would hike out by way of Horseshoe Mesa and the Grandview Trail. It's a much more enjoyable hike with lots of pretty scenery and many fun things...

If one is approaching this area from the Tanner area on a day's hike, the biggest danger might be that you are beginning to get pretty tired, perhaps shaky...
