One idea for a dayhike at Nankoweap that no one has mentioned yet is
the top of Nankoweap Mesa (not Butte). My wife and I went up there as
a (full) day hike...

My Gregory WindRiver has a couple 2-3" holes chewed it in by some
sort of varmint. It's been there a couple of years but I figure
soon my luck will run out...
