We have a company/outdoor gear store here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that
still manufactures heavy duty canvas cabin-style tents. The sewing is
done in-house...

Your point is well taken.
Certainly many routes across the Canyon where know by the natives
prehistoricly and many lived within the Canyon for lifetimes...
