I have used an MSR water filter with a ceramic filter element for years. It
is not the lightest, but by far the most durable of all the filters I have
seen...

I have used iodine once, and carry it as a backup system only. I do not like
the taste, especially with warm water.
My normal system is a Sweetwater filter...
