I did the west side route in Tapeats Creek twice last year - solo
both times. Once was in May, the other in September. I believe you
have it pretty well...

The west side trail is most exposed in spots where the creek presses
in against the wall, requiring some ups and down, but it can be
walked with a pack on....

I was out there last Saturday. The road was wet and sloppy but we
got through with a tough, high-clearance 4WD. It is raining and
snowing right now...
