tent vs tarp

The third week of March am looking to hike and camp if we get permit.
What are the pros/cons of using a tarp vs tent at bright angel camp
grounds? ...

Sometimes the mule service is quickly sold-out for
dates around popular times (i.e. weekends and
holidays). They only pack a certain number of duffels
in/out...
