I think Bob Marley's post is on the mark. I'm sure that the small
beach he refers to 1/2 mile downriver from the LC confluence --
accessible by a slope...

We have permit for 3 nights in Palisades. A hike to the confluence
is a must. The permit specifically prohibits camping within 1/2 mile
and states that...

This is not a good idea.....Many deaths have occurred by the underestimation
of the Colorado River. It is best to hitch a ride with a river...
