I gave up my Nalgene bottles 3-4 years ago, have only used Gatorade
bottles since. I have never had a problem with them leaking. I have
dropped them...

I managed to puncture a full platy when it did a kamikaze jump out of the top of the pack onto some rocks. I added the platy patches to my emergency kit.

started hiking with two new bottles (full of Gatorade). They are much
lighter, but...

A popular suggestion to reduce weight is to switch from using a Nalgene water bottle to a
Gatorade bottle.
I'm a big fan of Nalgene Lexan...
